- MODIFY TRADING INDICATORS HELP SCREEN
-
- Selection J will allow for the modification of the trading indicators.
- To correctly modify these indicators an understanding of how these in-
- dicators function is essential.
-
- All calls for buy and sell are dependent on the relationship of the
- short and long term indicators. If the short term indicator becomes
- more positive then yesterday's (even though it may be a negative
- figure) in relation to the long term indicator then a buy signal is
- called for. When the opposite occurs a sell signal is generated.
- It's obvious that if both the long and short term averages were given
- the same values then there would never be a call to buy or sell, since
- both averages would be changing by the same amount, their relationship
- would never change. A nominal start is to set the Long term average
- to 30 (days), the Short term to 10 (days), and the Chord to 5(days).
-
- The calls to buy and sell are mitigated by the Chord setting. The
- Chord will look back in the history the number of days selected by the
- Chord setting. If the program is calling for a buy and the Chord
- close is greater than the current close the buy signal will be inhib-
- ited.
